The demo already contains the track. Production is what brings it out.
Production is the centre of what we do. We start from an idea, a guitar-and-vocal demo or a voice memo, and build the track it's asking for around it. Arrangement, choice of textures, sound design, structure.
We produce as co-writers, or take the whole thing on, depending on the project. Either way the same question comes back at every decision: what is this track trying to say, and how do we help it say it better?
Emily Trottier's EP shows how that goes. She arrived with guitar-and-vocal demos and left with an EP that was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered, under an artistic direction built for it.
Getting into it
We listen to your demos and your references, and talk about what you want to say. The direction takes shape before the first session.
Production demo
We build a first version of the track: structure, arrangement, textures. It's the compass for the project, and we sign it off together.
Production and recording
Sessions in concentrated blocks. Programming, recording vocals and instruments, sound design. Direction and technique move at the same time.
Finishing
The track goes to mix and then to master, here, with no handover. You leave with something ready to release.

The studio grows project by project. When a session calls for a room or an instrument we don't have, we rent what's needed and handle the logistics.
All I have is a guitar-and-vocal demo. Is that enough?
Yes, and it's the starting point we prefer. An honest demo tells us everything we need: the song, the voice, what you're after. The rest gets built together.
Do you work in my genre?
Our productions run from intimate songwriting to electronic music, taking in pop and jazz-pop. Once we understand what a project is trying to say, we know how to serve it in your genre.
Do you keep any rights to my track?
You remain the author of your work. The terms on which the deliverables are assigned are written into the quote in plain language, and the rights transfer to you on payment in full. Where we co-write, the split is agreed before production starts.
How long does a production take?
A single usually takes a few weeks, an EP one or two seasons, depending on the session calendar and your availability. The quote sets a realistic schedule.
